Check-in: 4PM Saturday. Departure the following Saturday is after a leisurely breakfast.
BY ROAD: The Ranch is at the end of a long gravel road off the Union Pass Road, which crosses the mountains between Dubois and Pinedale. In dry weather it is navigable by passenger car, however we highly recommend a 4WD vehicle for the additional clearance. Rental car and air ticket rates can make flying into Salt Lake City much less expensive than flying into Jackson Hole. The drive from the Salt Lake airport is about 285 miles and takes 5 hours; from Jackson it’s about 100 miles and 2 ½ hours.

BY AIR: For speed and scenic drama, consider flying to the Darwin airstrip by bush plane from the Jackson Airport. Mark Doerr of “Precision Aviation” (208) 308-1852, email@example.com, has various options. Please inquire directly with him for availability and pricing.
BY GUIDED TOUR: If you’d rather not drive the rough road to-and-from the Darwin in a rental car, consider an interpretive wildlife tour through Grand Teton National Park and Bridger-Teton National Forest with Guides of Jackson Hole, a professional local guide service. This trip through the Greater Yellowstone region is rich with history, geology, and environmental science; it features great opportunities to spot wildlife including buffalo, elk, antelope, moose, eagles and perhaps bears and coyotes. The tour includes pick-up, and drop-off the following week, in the town of Jackson or at the Jackson Hole Airport. It can be booked as a public or private trip, and is capped at 6 passengers.
Guides of Jackson Hole was founded by Trevor Bloom, who grew up in Jackson and works as a conservation scientist with The Nature Conservancy. Trevor is a great guide, and a wealth of knowledge of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Find out more at www.GuidesofJacksonHole.com
