COME AND STAY A WHILE

The scenery is spectacular, the cabins are simple and comfortable, the food is delicious, and our rustic style harkens back to the old-time guest ranches of the 20’s and 30’s.  Spend your days on horseback, hiking, fishing, painting, reading-  in short, doing what your heart desires. Take along a picnic or return to the ranch for lunch.  Change your mind.  The days are yours.

We sleep only 16 guests at any one time, and book full week stays during the summer season.  There is plenty to explore, and enough to keep you busy on horseback, on foot, or around the lodge for the duration of your stay.  Our remote location and the long dirt road make it impractical to come and go, so please plan your trips to Grand Teton or Yellowstone National Parks before or after you visit us.

THE SEASONS IN THE GROS VENTRE

Spring comes to our valley around the beginning of June and continues up the mountains just behind the receding snow line.  It is accompanied by an extraordinary display of wild flowers and animal life.  The birds seem most numerous and active in June, while the flowers reach their height around the Ranch throughout July.  Game animals are an integral part of the scene the entire summer.

Fishing begins in late July with the end of the spring floods, and continues to improve as the water levels go down.  Late August and September bring colder nights and brilliant, warm, bug-free days.  The aspen trees start to turn sometime during the second week in September and generally stay spectacular for two or three weeks.
